18th Structural Steel Day, being the regular organization of Turkish Construction Steel Association where all industry players gather, was held on 26 October 2017 in Istanbul Mariotte Hotel. Structural Steel Day is a day of excitement and pride for Turkish Construction Steel Association. All achievements and failures in steel structures in Turkey meet industry’s significant names every year in Structural Steel Day.
Day was addressed by H. Yener Gur’es, Chairman of Turkish Construction Steel Association. Following a short summary of lifetime achievements of Turkish Construction Steel Association which celebrates its 25th birthday this year, Yener Gur’es mentioned statistical figures, vision and problems of the industry in addition to projects realized by Turkish Construction Steel Association.
Mesut Ozdol of SteelORBIS acted as the moderator of the panel discussion on the broad subject of “Why’s and How’s of Steel Structures”. In the panel discussion participated by Tekfen Engineering General Manager Alparslan Gure, Assistant Secretary General of Turkish Contractors Association Bulent Atamer and Turkish Construction Steel Association Founder Member Selcuk Ozdil, all developments in steel structures in Turkey were discussed.
