The project of Hopes at Water (Floating House) was developed by SO design office with the support of Fibrobeton and Metal Yapı companies as well as Boğaziçi University Coastal Engineering Laboratory. This innovative project participated in the Design Biennial organised by the Istanbul Culture and Art Foundation (IKSV).
The purpose of this multidisciplinary project was to create temporary housing possibility for Istanbul after a possible earthquake disaster, considering that it may be difficult to find appropriate places to construct temporary house, dormitories, etc. in this metropole of more than 16 million.
